Social Responsibility

To support the producer, we need to pay better and pay more.

Beyond caffeine, beyond specialty, beyond a cupping score or flavor.

Achieving differentiated quality also helps the producer become less exposed to international commodity coffee prices, reduces inequality among volume producers, and provides access to international markets.

To improve the living conditions of coffee producers, it is necessary to have strategic partners who provide the assurance of financing during months of expenses, as well as agree on fair prices in advance to incentivize quality production.

Exploradores de Café acts as that bridge, ensuring a reward for producers who meet quality standards.

  • Prepayments and financing to assist the producer during the harvest season when liquidity is needed to pay for labor, avoiding the sale of an unfinished product (coffee cherries) to middlemen where the profit margin is very low.

  • In our team, we have three certified tasters capable of providing a fair score to producers, so they know the fair price for their coffee, along with feedback for the improvement of their processes. We also educate producers to understand tasting and provide them with tools to demand fair prices from buyers.

  • Another way we financially assist producers is by aiding in the purchase of equipment to reduce production costs and achieve greater consistency in production.

  • We have collaborated with Mexican researchers to implement new fermentation processes to enhance the scores of coffees without increasing their cost.
